News emerging from Europe suggests that a high-profile Liverpool star has submitted a bid to buy a club in one of the continent's strongest leagues. According to French news outlet , Trent Alexander-Arnold has the intention of taking over FC Nantes in Ligue 1. It is claimed the England international's father, Michael Arnold, has been involved in meetings between the two camps.

It is understood that Alexander-Arnold had previously considered purchasing AS Saint-Etienne and Le Havre before turning to Nantes, who are currently fifth in France's top division. The club is currently owned by French businessman Waldemar Kita, an increasingly unpopular figure among its supporters. Kita is believed to be open to selling Nantes amid their financial struggles and after he failed to get plans to build a privately owned stadium underway.

It is reported that he met with Alexander-Arnold and his father over a video call last year, before later meeting them in person. A third meeting was reportedly held this week, although Nantes sources are said to have denied any takeover talks with the 25-year-old. reports that the potential takeover amount could reach €100 million (R1.

9 billion), including €80 million (R1.5 billion) straight and €20 million (R391.5 million) in seller credit.
