Snowy and blustery conditions to start the week

Gusty winds move on in for much of the region today, with snow continuing on into the evening once again.

Conditions across the Northland for Monday morning will be slippery and snowy. The heaviest bands of snow still look to be moving across the North Shore, but throughout much of the region, we see the chance for wet snow to continue, with highs around freezing for the afternoon. By night, winds will remain blustery out of the northwest, and most snowflakes taper off before midnight.

By the time the event has fully moved out of the region, accumulations should be minimal south of U.S. Highway 2, mainly picking up a trace to under an inch.

Then, heading north, areas from around Highway 2 toward just south of Silver Bay, Virginia and Bigfork could pick up 1-3 inches, and farther to the north, closer to 3-6 inches, with some spots near International Falls and along the North Shore getting heavier amounts. ADVERTISEMENT Windy and chillier days are on the way for the rest of the week. Tuesday, we drop into the 20s, and then we have a few days in the single digits and teens for the middle of the week.
