New weather maps suggest that parts of the UK could be facing blizzards in the coming days, with significant snowfall expected to hit several regions. UK weather forecast models indicate a strong weather system moving in, bringing heavy snow and strong winds, particularly in northern and higher-altitude areas. The latest projections from WXCharts reveal a developing winter storm set to impact the UK between March 29 and 31.

These maps show bands of snow moving across Scotland, northern England, and parts of Wales, with some areas potentially seeing several centimetres of accumulation. The Met Office ’s long-range forecast for March 25 to April 3 suggests a more settled start to the period, particularly in southern regions. However, it also warns of the potential for wetter and windier conditions in the north.

The Met Office said: "The final week or so of March to the start of April looks to be characterised by a slowly evolving, generally changeable weather pattern. "Initially, a more widely dry interlude seems likely but with time these drier conditions become more favoured across the south. "Further north and northwest, there is a greater chance of rain or showers at times, these accompanied by windier spells with a chance of gales for parts of the far northwest especially.

"There is a small chance that these wetter, windier conditions may become more widespread for a time." According to the latest weather models, the following counties are most likely to experience snow and potentially blizzard-like conditions: Highland Aberdeenshire Perth and Kinross Stirling Argyll and Bute Cumbria Northumberland County Durham Yorkshire Dales Lancashire Gwynedd Powys Denbighshire Though southern areas of the UK are expected to remain largely dry, those in the north should brace for the possibility of snow, with blizzards a concern in exposed locations. Weather updates will continue to update the forecast as the storm system approaches, so residents in affected regions should stay informed and take necessary precautions.
