Saturday Night Live writer Josh Patten called out the country star Morgan Wallen on social media following his rushed exit on the show over the weekend

One Saturday Night Live writer has taken to social media addressing Morgan Wallen's abrupt show exit over the weekend . SNL writer Josh Patten hilariously called out the country star as he took to his Instagram Story posting a photo of a Krispy Kreme truck with the words "get me to God's country" written over it. Patten's post was a clear reference to Wallen's latest controversy as the musician sparked backlash after rushing off stage following his performance and uploaded a shady post onto social media shortly after.

On Saturday night, Wallen appeared as the musical guest on SNL alongside Oscar award-winning star Mikey Madison . But after performing his new songs 'I'm the Problem' and 'Just in Case,' the 31-year-old was seen leaning in to whisper something into Mikey's ear before abruptly walking off stage. After skipping out on goodnights with the cast, the singer wasted no time getting out of New York City.

A few hours after the show wrapped, Wallen took to his Instagram Story where he posted a picture of his private jet and captioned the post: "Get me to God's country" written over it. And while it seemed that Patten was hitting back at Wallen with the targeted post, he later clarified that he was not mocking him. To prove that he's actually been a fan of Wallen for years, the SNL writer later shared a screenshot of his Apple Music Replay for 2023.

In his most-played songs for the year there were a number of Wallen's songs were listed from his third album including his tracks I Wrote The Book, Born With A Beer In My Hand, Last Night, Tennessee Numbers, and Neon Star (Country Boy Lullaby). Along with the screenshot, Patten wrote: "How quickly the media forgets 2023." After sparking anger online over his sudden exit, a source close to the singer told TMZ Wallen "entered and exited the studio the same way he did Saturday night during rehearsal and camera blocking all week leading up to the live show .

.. so he routinely headed that way when he thought it was time to go.

” Insiders also assured that there was "no bad blood" between the cast of Saturday Night Live and Wallen and that it was "just an awkward moment." They went on to confirm that the Tennessee-native was not offended by anything that Mikey said during the broadcast and that he was aware of all of the jokes ahead of time.
