SNEAK PEEK: 'The Chosen' airs on GMA this Holy Week

The beloved and award-winning Christian historical drama The Chosen is part of GMA's special Holy Week programming this year.The series tells the story of the life of Jesus from the eyes of the people he met. These include a fisherman in debt, a woman suffering from possession, a tax collector shunned by his family and people, and a religious leader whose faith is shaken.The Chosen has garnered accolades such as the Film & Television Impact award in 2021 and 2023 from the K-Love Fan Awards, a fan-voted award ceremony by the American Christian radio network K-Love.It was also hailed as the Television Series of the Year in 2023 at the GMA Dove Awards by the Gospel Music Association of the United States.Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the series, won the Grace Prize in 2020 from the Movieguide Awards, an annual Christian entertainment awards ceremony.The first season of The Chosen was crowdfunded and became a streaming hit on The Chosen app, as well as other digital platforms.Now, it can be seen on television in the Philippines.Catch The Chosen on April 17 (Maundy Thursday), 2:30 p.m.; April 18 (Good Friday), 3:00 p.m.; and April 19 (Black Saturday), 3:00 p.m.Here is an exclusive sneak peek of the series:
