Times News Network Ludhiana: Snatchers targeted two women in two separate cases. In the first case, a woman from Kochar Market was robbed of her purse containing Rs 20,000 cash whereas in the second case, a gold chain was snatched. In the first case, a case was filed against Sahil Yadav alias Sau, a resident of Budh Vihar Colony of Tajpur Bet, Bhamia area on the complaint of Manju Saggar , 54, a resident of Shakti Nagar.

Saggar said that she had just stepped out of the house to buy groceries when a man on a motorcycle snatched her purse. She raised an alarm and onlookers nabbed the accused. She added that the purse contained Rs 20,000 cash.



ASI Jasveer Singh, investigating officer from Division number 5 police station said that police recovered the snatched purse from the possession of Sahil Yadav. His criminal record is being checked. In the second instance, police registered a case against an unidentified person for snatching a gold chain from a Delhi-based woman.

The complainant, Seema Gogla, 55, a resident of Jeevan Park, Pankha Road, Delhi said that she was visiting a relative in Ludhiana and had gone shopping to Model Town when a biker snatched her gold chain. Onlookers tried to catch the snatcher, who managed to escape. A case has been filed and footage of CCTV cameras installed at the spot is being examined.
