Small plane that took off in N.J. crashes in Westchester, killing 1

One person was killed when a small plane that took off from Linden Airport on Thursday evening crashed in Westchester County, New York, officials said. The small plane with two aboard crashed near exit 2 of Interstate 684 in Harrison, New York State Police said. A 32-year-old Monsey, New York, man died in the crash and the other person aboard was seriously injured, WABC-7 said.

The plane left Linden shortly after 6 p.m. and flew north along the Hudson River before turning east and crashing near Westchester County Airport.



A gas spill as a result of the plane crash is also being cleaned up, New York Gov. Kathy Hochl said on social media. The FAA couldn’t immediately be reached Friday morning for more information.
