BYRON — Both sides of the ball belonged to the home team here Friday night. From start to finish, Byron dominated a Skyway District matchup, earning a 55-0 victory against Austin. The Bears improve to 3-1 overall and have outscored their opponents a combined 138-15 over the past three weeks, all Bears’ victories.

ADVERTISEMENT Friday, it was the usual suspects, plus a dominant defense that led the Bears past the Packers (0-4 overall). Byron limited Austin to just 69 total yards, while rolling up 428 yards of offense. Sophomore QB Eli Rodemeyer was efficient, completing 5 of 7 pass attempts for 60 yards and a 14-yard TD pass to Max Dearborn.



Carson Heimer had another big night on the ground for the Bears, carrying 13 times for 198 yards and four touchdowns. Heimer averaged an excellent 15.23 yards per carry.

Jordan Heimer made the most of his seven carries, rushing for 97 yards and two touchdowns, and Jake Jones ran nine times for 59 yards. The Bears host Holy Family Catholic next Friday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.
