Sky Sports confirms which Swindon games will be broadcast live

Town's League Two away trip to Crewe Alexandra has been selected by Sky Sports for live television coverage.

Sky Sports has confirmed that a number of Swindon Town games will be broadcast live in the next few months. It had already been confirmed that the Robins' opening match against newly-promoted Chesterfield at 8pm in the evening on August 9 would be shown on the broadcaster's new dedicated English Football League channel. But, the fixtures section of the Sky Sports website shows that a number of other Swindon games will be available to watch on television live.

A second away game will feature in the same month, with Town's clash against Crewe on August 24 also being shown at 12.30pm Beyond that, the County Ground will get its first showing on Sky Sports on September 14, when Swindon battles Newport County at home, also starting at 12.30pm.



This follows the announcement from Sky Sports that every EFL club will feature at least three times on the new launched channel. For the period up until the end of September, every EFL team will have an opening weekend fixture, a Carabao Cup tie and at least one regular weekend fixture screened live on Sky Sports. The EFL season begins with four games on Friday, August 9, including Swindons.

Every additional game across the opening weekend of the Championship, League One and League Two will be streamed live on Sky Sports+, in what Sky is calling a landmark first in broadcasting history.
