Sky reveals TV catch-up will stop working on popular boxes in days unless customers upgrade

SKY viewers have been warned the company's popular on-demand and catch-up service will stop working on some devices unless they upgrade very soon. Then, the company shutdown its older iOS Sky Go app . And now, Sky has its sights on Apple TV. Support for Sky Go is being dropped on three versions of Apple TV's software.

The move affects Apple TV's tvOS 13, 14 and 15. Fortunately, you can update to tvOS 16 to continue using Sky Go on Apple TV.

"To maintain the best experience on Sky Go, we sometimes have to end support for older operating systems," a Sky rep wrote on the company's website. "By updating to tvOS 16 or above, you'll continue to be able to use Sky Go.

There are several Apple TV models around which can make it hard to figure out if you're affected or not.

The easiest way is to go to Settings > General > About and look at tvOS. If you see tvOS 16 or later you're fine. If you see tvOS 15 or earlier, you're affected by the changes.

You should try to update your Apple TV by going to Settings > System > Software Updates..
