Mike Tyson made his highly anticipated return to the ring against Jake Paul on Friday night, but the fight did not live up to the hype, with Paul coasting to a unanimous victory over Tyson after the fight went the distance. Along the way, Skip Bayless chimed in with his harsh opinion on the fight. There was a lot of excitement surrounding Tyson's return to boxing, but it quickly became clear that, at 58 years old, he was not up to the task of beating Paul.

There's no shame in that, as simply getting himself in shape for this fight is impressive enough, but fans everywhere were disappointed with the bout. That included Bayless, who absolutely ripped Tyson and Paul as their fight was going on. Bayless claimed that the fight was "boring," while also acknowledging that the crowd of over 70,000 fans at AT&T Stadium were booing the two fighters due to how little action there was.

I'M SORRY, THIS IS JUST BORING AND THE CROWD IS BOOING. Bayless' opinion was echoed by fans everywhere, as Tyson simply didn't stand a chance against Paul, who is 31 years younger than him. Tyson got some good hits in on Paul, back his lack of stamina, combined with Paul's longer reach over him, made it so that it was virtually impossible for him to win.

While Tyson did end up going the distance with Paul, it wasn't a surprise to anyone when Paul won by unanimous decision. Tyson getting into the ring was impressive in its own right, but for fans hoping for a good fight, it's safe to say that they did not get what they were looking for. © Kevin Jairaj-Imagn Images Bayless was among those folks, and many fans replied by agreeing with his stance.

While the fight generated an absurd amount of hype, the circumstances surrounding it made it so that there was virtually no chance it would be what folks were hoping for. Regardless, Paul adds another win to his fighting resume, while Tyson proved he could hop back in the ring and at least hold his own. Tyson sounded open to boxing again despite the result, so it looks like he will be worth keeping an eye on, in addition to Paul, to see what their respective futures hold.
