Every time a movie with this name was released, it became an instant hit. If you’re wondering which film series we’re talking about, it’s none other than Raaz. The first film titled Raaz was released in 1967.
Interestingly, in later films with the same title, it was Emraan Hashmi who took the lead. Emraan remained a constant in three films under this franchise. Bipasha Basu also appeared in two of these movies.
Let’s delve into the details of each Raaz film. The First Raaz Released in 1967, the first Raaz featured iconic actors Rajesh Khanna and Babita in the lead roles. Directed by Ravindra Dave, the movie created a buzz at the box office and grossed over Rs 1 crore, which was a significant amount at that time.
The Second Raaz In 1981, another Raaz hit the screens, featuring Raj Babbar and Sulakshana Pandit. In this film, Raaz wasn’t just the title but also the name of the hero. Directed by Harmesh Malhotra, this movie also turned out to be a box-office hit.
Raaz (2002) Released in 2002, Raaz, featuring Emraan Hashmi and Bipasha Basu in the lead roles, was a huge success. Considered one of Bollywood’s scariest films, it also catapulted Bipasha and Emraan to massive stardom. Raaz: The Mystery Continues In 2009, the Raaz series returned to the big screen with a twist in its title: Raaz: The Mystery Continues.
Apart from Emraan Hashmi, the cast included two new actors, Kangana Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman. This film also became a massive hit at the box office. Raaz 3 In 2012, Raaz 3 was released, featuring Bipasha Basu, Emraan Hashmi, and Esha Gupta.
Building on the massive success of the previous Raaz films, this instalment was destined for success. Directed by Vikram Bhatt, the movie turned out to be a blockbuster, earning Rs 69.73 crore on a budget of Rs 28 crore.
