"We would just bicker. "Then this year, mum and dad were like, you should play together. It's a lot easier for them to come and watch us both.

"There's still a bit of bickering, but we get along so well now." While 18-year-old Morgan is in her second year with the Lions, 19-year-old Polly is in her debut season at the club after switching from Tocumwal. "I'm really pumped to play with Polly and see how we grow," Morgan said.

The sisters have either end of the court covered, with Morgan in defence and Polly in attack. "Even though we play at different ends of the court, when we were growing up, I always knew the way Polly played," Morgan said. "For instance, Polly hates when I peg her the ball across the court, but I know she has sticky fingers and she'll always catch it.

"Just little things like that we've picked up on." Morgan wowed the Tallangatta and District competition in her first campaign to "I was so proud of her," Polly said. "I woke up the next morning to a message saying Morgan had won, it was so exciting.

Having been unlucky with pre-season injuries, it's hoped some players will rejoin the line-up in the coming weeks.

"Before last year, none of us had ever played together," Morgan said. "We kind of picked up at the end of the season and just missed finals, but this year we're looking to come back really strong." The Lions will face the Cats for the league's annual Good Friday clash.

"It's one of the best games," Morgan said. "There are so many people there and it's so well supported." Daily Today's top stories curated by our news team.
