Sir Elton John mocks Elon Musk in crude on-stage jab in London

Sir Elton John took a playful jab at Tesla and SpaceX mogul Elon Musk while being celebrated at the Attitude Awards . The iconic British musician, who made a special appearance to accept the Legacy award, was presented with the honour by his pal Ed Sheeran. The award celebrates notable figures within the LGBTQ+ community.

Sir Elton is the second recipient of this accolade, following in the footsteps of the Duke of Sussex who accepted it in 2017 on behalf of his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. He then added, "A***hole comes to mind. But let’s not talk about Elon Musk tonight – let’s have a good time," as per the transcript from the Attitude Awards.

The ceremony also honoured other individuals, including Eurovision Song Contest victor Nemo, who took home the Person of the Year award. Lulu, the UK's representative in the 1969 Eurovision, was bestowed with the Honorary Gay award. Jessica Gunning, known for her role in Baby Reindeer, received the Culture award, and Esther Ghey was there to accept the Inspiration award posthumously for her daughter Brianna Ghey – a transgender teenager tragically killed in Warrington last year.

In his heartfelt speech, Sir Elton expressed his joy at being a gay man, reflecting on his marriage to David Furnish in 2014 and their two sons, Zachary and Elijah. "I love my husband, my children – I have benefits as a gay man I never thought I’d be able to have," he shared with the audience. "Thank you, David, I love you so, so, so very much.

We’ve come a long way. And we’re very lucky to live in a country that gives us the rights we have. "But there are still people who don’t have those rights, and I intend to fight for those rights until the day I die.
