In a landmark move, Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC, a trusted retail giant, has entered the mobility sector by partnering with Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, the renowned Italian automaker, to reintroduce the Piaggio Apé range of three-wheelers in Sri Lanka. This collaboration marks Piaggio’s official return to the Sri Lankan market, where over 100,000 of its durable and fuel-efficient vehicles already operate. The Apé series, known for its heavy-duty performance, includes diesel-powered cargo and passenger models as well as an electric variant, catering to transport services, delivery fleets, and entrepreneurs.

Mahesh Wijewardene, Managing Director of Singer Group, highlighted the synergy between Singer’s 148-year legacy and Piaggio’s global engineering excellence. Diego Graffi, Chairman of Piaggio India, expressed confidence in Singer’s distribution strength for a successful relaunch. Available models include: Apé AUTO D+ (435cc passenger), Apé City Passenger (230cc), Apé Extra Diesel Cargo (435cc) and Electric Apé E City (8kW lithium).
