The chef has a new venture to start off the new year Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer is set to present his own radio show. The Wallasey chef and Kirsty Gallacher are gearing up to join Global's Gold Radio for its 2025 lineup. Ex-Sky Sports News anchor Gallacher is set to steer listeners through the afternoon rush with 'Gold Radio Drive', while Rimmer will serve up a fresh weekend show packed with classic golden oldies from the 1960s through the 1980s.
The revamped 2025 broadcast schedule kicks off next week, with Gallacher gracing the air from Monday to Thursday between 4pm to 7pm, and winding into the weekend every Friday 4pm to 6pm. Rimmer has been behind a number of hospitality ventures, and formerly ran the Elephant in Woolton Village and the Viking in West Kirby . He will be treating listeners to his personal selection of tunes Saturdays from 8am to noon, working alongside his gig co-hosting Channel 4's Sunday Brunch.
The chef-turned-presenter said: "To host my own radio show is a dream come true, and to do it on Gold Radio is the icing on the cake." He added: "Saturday mornings will feel like I’m going through my personal music collection, and not only that, I’ll get to enjoy and share it with Gold Radio’s listeners. It will hardly feel like a job.
" Gallacher said: "I am thrilled that I will be joining the iconic Gold Radio to present a new weekday programme, Gold Radio Drive With Kirsty Gallacher, from January 6. I love the buzz of live radio and can’t wait to be a part of an exciting new team, playing the best all-time classics and getting to know Gold Radio’s loyal listeners, as well as enticing some new recruits.".
