KUALA LUMPUR: Siemens Malaysia has unveiled its new headquarters at The MET Corporate Towers, a certified green building here. The company said the relocation is part of its efforts to integrate more sustainable practices into its core operations.Siemens has been operating in Malaysia for several decades and said the new office will better support its evolving business needs in the country.

Siemens Malaysia president and chief executive officer Tindaro Danze said 1908 was the year Siemens recorded its first sales transaction in Malaysia.Since then, the company has been continuously and increasingly committed to the country's prosperity. He added that this commitment is reflected in various areas - from expanding the railway infrastructure and electrical power grid, to automating and digitalising local factories and commercial buildings, and bringing cutting-edge technology to the education sector.

"The move marks a new milestone for us. By moving to this new office we are not only offering our employees a good work environment, but also send a clear signal to the market that we are committed to sustainability in everything we do."Be it the way we are operating our factories or - like in this case - what buildings we chose for our sales, engineering and back-office team to be based at.

"The MET is not only a certified "green office building", but we also equipped our offices with our latest Siemens building technology hardware and software systems called Building X."This allows us to optimize our energy consumption, track the air quality our staff is breathing and keep a close eye on how efficiently we are utilising our space," he said at the grand launch of Siemens Malaysia headquarters here today. The launch included a tour of the new office and the Siemens Xcelerator Experience Centre.

The space highlights technologies such as digital twins, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, offering a glimpse into how Siemens is integrating digital tools into its operations.Siemens Malaysia also announced two new corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at deepening its social impact, with a focus on youth education and STEM engagement. These initiatives are the Girls in Engineering & Technology programme and the STEM Edge Competition 2025.

With its new headquarters and social investments, Siemens Malaysia positions itself as both a technology provider and a contributor to the country's sustainable and inclusive growth.© New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd.
