Sid Sahrawat to close Ponsonby restaurant KOL, challenging trading conditions blamed

Yet another restaurant on the famed Ponsonby Rd strip is closing - renowned Auckland restaurateurs Sid and Chand Sahrawat are shuttering KOL, citing challenging trading conditions. The hospitality stalwarts say although the tandoor-inspired restaurant was initially a very busy viable business, circumstances have changed. “The past few months have been tough, and while we’ve made the decision to close, we’re glad we tried – you never know if an idea will succeed unless you try,” Sid Sahrawat said today.

KOL will host its last dinner service on Mother’s Day..
