Prayagraj : Superintendent of Police (Pratapgarh) Dr Anil Kumar on Friday suspended sub-inspector Ramkaval Yadav , posted at Nawabganj police station, on charges of dereliction of duty . Additional SP (West) Sanjay Rai told TOI that SI Ramkaval Yadav, a resident of Asrauli (Ghazipur), was shifted to Nawabganj police station from Reserve Police Lines. ASP added, "Lalganj police informed senior police officials that a woman on Thursday submitted an application to Lalganj police alleging that the errant SI, in an inebriated state, misbehaved and manhandled her when she was travelling from Pratapgarh to Lalganj in an auto.
The errant SI was also travelling in the same auto." Acting upon the complaint of the woman, the Lalganj police registered an FIR against the SI under appropriate sections and was sent behind bars on Friday. Meanwhile, Nawabganj police too informed senior police officials that the SI was found in an inebriated state inside the thana campus on Thursday and was not unable to stand.
A medical test of SI was done which confirmed the liquor consumption. The blood sample of SI was sent for further tests..
