Showers, cloudy skies in Hong Kong could take shine off ‘super moon’ at Mid-Autumn Festival

Observatory earlier said a bright and round ‘super moon’ would be observable with the naked eye – if the weather permitted.

In the coming week, intermittent showers with some sunny intervals are expected over the next two to three days. Localised heavy showers are forecast for Monday. Rain would gradually ease off later in the week, the forecaster said on Sunday.

As for the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 17, the forecaster predicted temperatures would range from 27 to 32 degrees Celsius, with mostly cloudy skies and a few showers, alongside brief periods of sunshine during the day..
