KUALA LUMPUR: The former wife of prominent film director Syamsul Yusof, Ira Kazar, has urged her social media followers to move on from discussions about her past, particularly her previous marriage.During a recent live broadcast on TikTok, Ira, whose full name is Faghirah Fatini Kazaruddin, 30, firmly stated that it was time for people to stop dwelling on her past, specifically her marriage to Syamsul. She expressed her desire for an end to the ongoing debates and arguments that frequently arise concerning her personal life.
While acknowledging her past mistakes, Ira expressed hope that people would refrain from bringing them up again, as it only reopens old wounds and creates unnecessary conflict. "Please stop arguing among yourselves about my past. Why is there so much fighting?" she asked.
"Most people are already aware of what happened and what I was like back then," Ira continued calmly but resolutely. "I admit that I acted wrongly at that time, and I am now trying to become a better person."She added that she has matured enough to handle criticism, especially regarding her failed marriage, and that insults no longer affect her.
"Harsh words no longer bother me. Don't worry. In fact, I find them amusing.
"However, during the live session, some followers persisted in bringing up her marriage to Syamsul, suggesting it was the cause of Syamsul's divorce from his former first wife, Puteri Sarah Liyana.Ira and Syamsul Yusof's marriage ended on Sept 5 last year after the Kuala Selangor Lower Syariah Court confirmed Syamsul's divorce pronouncement against her. They had married on Jan 6, 2023, in Southern Thailand.
