
KUALA LUMPUR: The issue of domestic violence allegedly committed by popular Indonesian actor and director, Baim Wong, against his wife, Paula Verhoeven, is heating up.Most recently, Paula, in her divorce trial, brought a digital forensic expert known as Abimanyu to be a witness in the violence case allegedly committed by Baim.In a report by detik.
com, Abimanyu said that closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage analysed showed that physical contact and violence occurred against Paula."There is CCTV evidence in a room where an argument occurred between Baim and Paula," he said during the recent divorce trial.Abimanyu also explained that the CCTV footage showed physical contact including a hard blow which affected one of the parties.
"The CCTV shows evidence of a hard blow and one of the people was hit and injured," he said.The lawyer representing Paula, Ainul Yaqin, said he had submitted 42 items of evidence, including letters and electronic documents.Baim, on the other hand, denied having physically touched Paula when met by the media after the trial.
Baim's divorce application against Paula was confirmed on Oct 8 last year, after almost six years of marriage.News of the divorce was seen as the culmination of various issues surrounding their marriage.In recent months,Baim and Paula's relationship had been the subject of much discussion in the recent months leading up to the divorce.
Netizens speculated that their marriage was on the rocks after they were rarely seen together.Baim, 44, married Paula, 38, a model and actress of Chinese, Dutch, and Javanese descent, in 2018.They share two sons, Kiano Tiger Wong, and Kenzo Eldrago Wong.
