VICTOR Aeboyejo hopes he can provide the ‘spark’ which ignites Bolton Wanderers ’ season. Five games into the League One campaign, Ian Evatt’s side find themselves in the bottom four having failed to score since the Nigerian striker netted on the opening day of the season at Leyton Orient. They go into their sixth game at home to Reading this afternoon in desperate need of a pick-me -up and with Adeboyejo looking to win his place back in the Bolton front line.
Adeboyejo believes fortunes could change on a single moment against the Royals, transforming what has been a relatively dismal campaign to date, but he is pinning his hopes on a positive atmosphere at the Tougsheet Stadium when the fans take to their seats. “We know something needs to change,” he told The Bolton News . “I am a fan myself so when you see the players willing you to work harder it encourages you too.
We haven’t done that enough so far. “Sometimes it is nice to bring to spark and the energy, early doors, a tackle, a bit of good play, wherever it may be. You need to find that little spark and find what you need.

I was thinking ‘what the hell?’ “Then I saw the stories and I though, oh.
.. But I am feeling good now and up to the task.
” Adeboyejo came close to signing for Reading in 2019 when the Royals were managed by Paul Ince, but now feels comfortable in his Bolton boots. “Yeah, there was a little bit before I went to Burton, a little bit of news, but it didn’t happen,” he said. “I am very happy to be here, I am very happy to continue that, so that’s it, really.
“With everyone you need a little bit of time to settle, to find your feet. You need to find where you fit in the puzzle and once you do that you come into yourself a bit. “As a player once you get that time it is great to have that support to make you feel welcome and I’m feeling that now, very lucky.
"I would love to score that goal, make that spark, for something good to happen now.".
