Once a bee administers its sting, it dies. But many people don't realise why they meet their demise – and the reason is rather unsettling.

In a revealing TikTok video, user @footdocdana asked followers: "Did you know this?". She then went on to explain what happens to the insects after they sting you, and people were left horrified.
