Shettima’s office debunks reports of denial of access to Presidential Villa

The spokesperson for Vice President Kashim Shettima, Stanley Nkwocha, has firmly dismissed reports claiming that armed military personnel denied the Vice President access to the Presidential Villa, describing the publication as false and “so far removed from reality.”In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, Nkwocha urged the public to disregard what he termed a “malicious publication,” stressing that such misinformation could only be entertained by those unfamiliar with the inner workings of the Nigerian government.“There is no truth whatsoever to the claim that Vice President Shettima was barred from accessing the Presidential Villa,” Nkwocha stated.

“This story is a feeble attempt to traduce the person and office of His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima.”He further condemned the reports as part of a broader campaign of disinformation aimed at sowing confusion and insinuating discord within the Presidency. According to him, there has been a “deliberate and well-planned orchestration of falsehoods” targeted at the Vice President, with the latest report merely continuing a pattern of desperate attempts to mislead the public.



“These mischievous and fabricated reports seek to paint a picture of conflict where none exists,” Nkwocha said. “The recent publication by obscure blogs alleging that military units blocked the Vice President is not only a wild expression of wishful thinking but a clear indication that the purveyors of these tales have exhausted both ink and imagination.”READ ALSO: Shettima pays tribute to Mrs OlowolafeHe recalled that earlier in the week, the Presidency had also debunked similar false news concerning campaign posters bearing the images of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, further emphasizing that the President and his Deputy remain committed to the rule of law and the Nigerian Constitution.

“The strength of the bond between President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima cannot be underestimated,” Nkwocha added. “It is regrettable that mischief-makers continue to peddle lies, but their efforts are in vain.”Nkwocha reiterated that Vice President Shettima remains focused on his constitutional responsibilities and on supporting President Tinubu’s agenda to deliver on the aspirations of Nigerians.

“He does not have the luxury of time for distractions, particularly those born of the imagination of individuals intent on creating smoke where there is no fire,” Nkwocha stressed. “He is not and will never be part of their media circus. Such efforts are futile even by the standards of the morally indifferent.

”Expressing gratitude to Nigerians across all divides who continue to support the Tinubu administration and resist the spread of fake news, Nkwocha reaffirmed the government’s commitment to its constitutional mandate.“The covenant between this government and the citizens of Nigeria was made through a legitimate and constitutional process,” he said. “No amount of falsehood or manufactured tension can shake the foundation of that democratic mandate — not under the watch of President Tinubu.
