By Seun IbiyemiThe Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, has urged Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the Federal Government to enhance cooperation and alignment with the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) in order to cultivate a more business-friendly environment in the country.Speaking on Wednesday during the closing session of the PEBEC Retreat for heads of MDAs and Reform Champions in Abuja, Shettima stressed that sustaining Nigeria’s appeal to investors hinges on coordinated and unified government efforts.“This retreat was convened by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), which I am honoured to chair, not only to assess the progress of ongoing reforms, but more importantly, to strengthen a critical element: synergy,” he said.
“The business of governance is far too intricate to be approached in isolation. We simply cannot afford to operate in silos while the challenges we are mandated to address grow more complex and interconnected by the day.”The Vice President reiterated the need for all government entities to work in tandem, sharing knowledge and leveraging one another’s strengths, in order to streamline service delivery and drive investor confidence.
The event drew key figures from the federal public service, including the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Dayo Mobereola. He lauded the Council for facilitating the retreat, noting that it offered a vital forum for peer review and strategic dialogue among public office holders.According to Mobereola, the retreat has contributed meaningfully to ongoing efforts aimed at refining institutional performance and ensuring the timely implementation of critical reforms across sectorsThe post Shettima urges stronger inter-agency collaboration to boost business climate appeared first on Nigerian NewsDirect.
