A sheep that was “left to die” in a field has been given a wheelchair following a successful crowd funder. Hope the sheep came into the care of Lotus Lamb and Sheep Sanctuary, which operates in Ashington and Henfield, after being abandoned. Hayley Hubbard, owner of the sanctuary, said Hope was “severely malnourished” and “needed saving”.
Hayley, 53, said: “She was a farmed sheep that had been left to die because she was starved and dehydrated in a field. “She needed saving. She was severely dehydrated, severely malnourished.
“You could see her spine. She was dying, really. Hope came to the sanctuary after being 'left to die' in a field (Image: Lotus Lamb and Sheep Sanctuary) “The first day I took her she would not get up.
“The first time she got up I was over the moon. I left her to rest, came back and she was not where I left her. “I looked across the field and she had collapsed.

” After realising Hope needed more support, Hayley started a Go Fund Me to raise money for a wheelchair. “The people that build them are in West Sussex," said Hayley. “As soon as we raised enough funds we phoned them and went and picked it up.

Hayley’s sanctuary currently cares for over 200 animals. She said: “My goal is to rescue as many animals that have been abused and unwanted and unloved as I can and give them a forever home or rehome them, particularly farm animals. “They’re just mistreated so much and people don’t think of them as animals.
