Sheehy covering for real agenda

Thanks to his political handlers, Tim Sheehy knows that he needs to say that he will protect Montana's public lands. His well-scripted statements are poor cover for his real agenda of turning control of our national forests and other federal lands over to local politicians so they can sell them off for development. How can Montanans trust him when selling off public land to developers is clearly stated in the National Republican Party platform! Even if Sheehy believed his own rhetoric, the reality is that he will get rolled once he gets to Washington.

A freshman senator won't be able to stand up to the very party insiders who got him the job. When it comes to our public lands, Montanans can't afford a "just trust me" from politicians. Sen.

Jon Tester doesn't have to talk in circles about public lands because his record speaks for itself. As Montana's senator, he has steadfastly — and successfully — opposed every single effort to transfer and sell off our public lands. Moreover, while aspiring politicians like Sheehy talk, Jon Tester has actually passed bills that balance wilderness protection with more logging to improve forest health and supply local mills.

If you want cheap promises and less access to public lands, vote for Tim Sheehy. If you want real results and a proven record of keeping public lands in public hands, vote to re-elect Sen. Jon Tester.
