She played herself in the comedy films Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994), Holy Man (1998) and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007). Fairfield won a younger audience when she starred as Chandler Bing's mother, Nora, on Friends. She shared memories of the late actor after he died from a ketamine overdose in 2023.

Fairchild said: 'I had two hip replacements last year and I feel great. I walk a lot and that is very good therapy. 'I'd been in a car accident in 2016 where I sprained one hip and unbeknownst to me also tore the labrum socket on the other.
