In her last Facebook post, Sharda Sinha shared a touching photo of herself with her late husband, Brajkishore Sinha, and their granddaughter sitting on his lap. The photo was posted just days after Brajkishore’s death, and in it, Sharda reflected on their final meeting together, honouring their shared moments.
The post became a heartfelt tribute to their lasting connection. In her last Facebook post Sharda penned, “I met him for the last time on the evening of September 17. Before leaving, I told him, ‘I will return in three days, please take care of yourself.
’ He said, ‘I will be absolutely fine. You stay healthy, and do return soon.’ He was looking at me the whole time.
Who knew this was our last meeting?” She further added, “I still feel his presence. My kids, Vandana and Anshuman, still feel their father is just out for work and will return soon. This is a picture from our last meeting.
The silence and his absence are killing me. In the picture, you can see his teary eyes with his granddaughter, and I am assuring him, ‘I will come to you soon.’ ‘Mai jald hi aaungi, maine bas yehi kaha tha unse (I will join you soon, that is what I told him),’” Sharda Sinha, beloved as the “Bihar Kokila” for her beautiful folk music, had been undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma at AIIMS Delhi.
She had been battling blood cancer since 2018, which had affected her health over time. Sharda passed away on the first day of Chhath Puja, a day that held special meaning for her fans. She was known for her iconic songs dedicated to the festival, and her death on this significant day adds a poignant touch to her lasting legacy.
