Yup, the third installment of the glitzy, glam school drama that gave us stars like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra is reportedly going on floors next week. Word on the street is that Karan Johar’s digital version of SOTY 3 will begin shooting super soon. Shanaya will be headlining Student of the Year 3, which is being made as a web series.
The show’s filming is scheduled to begin on April 20, 2025, according to reports. According to a recent report in Mid-day, the campus drama Student of the Year 3 is set to go on floors this month itself in Mumbai. It is said to be a six-episode show helmed by debutant director Reema Maya.
The portal’s source claims that the Shanaya Kapoor-starrer will be shot over 30 days. The source stated, “SOTY 3 has been taking shape for the past six years. Finally, Karan has given the green signal, and the unit plans to begin filming it from April 20.
It will be a tight schedule of just over 30 days to shoot six episodes." Ooooh, now here’s an interesting twist! Reports suggest that Shanaya Kapoor might be playing not one, but TWO characters in Student of the Year 3! Yep, a double role! The series is expected to drop on JioHotstar. The Student of the Year franchise has basically been Bollywood’s star-making factory! The first film back in 2012 gave us Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra.
Then came the 2019 sequel, which launched Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria into the limelight. Shanaya Kapoor is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, where she stars alongside Vikrant Massey. Directed by Santosh Singh, the romantic drama has already wrapped up and is gearing up for a 2025 release.
But that’s not all on Shanaya’s plate! She’s also part of the survival thriller Tu Yaa Main, opposite Adarsh Gourav. This intense film is expected to hit theatres on Valentine’s Day 2026. In the meantime, Shanaya is busy shooting another exciting project with Munjya star Abhay Verma, directed by Shujaat Saudagar.
