SHAMCEY SUPSUP – Chelsea Manalo dazzled at Miss Universe 2024, earning heartfelt praise from Shamcey Supsup for her outstanding performance and making the Philippines proud. Even though Chelsea Manalo did not win the Miss Universe crown, Miss Universe Philippines national director Shamcey Supsup expressed immense pride in her achievements. Supsup highlighted Manalo’s exceptional performance during the competition, particularly her signature “Tampisaw Walk” in the swimsuit segment, which earned her a spot among the Top 30 finalists.

“When I say Chelsea’s performance sa swimsuit sobrang flawless. It was everything that we wanted. Her ‘Tampisaw Walk’ was out.

Like I said, you can only do 50 percent; the other 50 percent is not in your hands. But for me, she did a great job. That’s the most important thing,” Supsup said in an interview circulating on social media after the coronation night in Mexico.

Although Chelsea Manalo did not make it to the Top 12 , she was awarded the Miss Universe Continental Queen of Asia title. This special recognition, one of four continental titles introduced by the Miss Universe Organization, places Manalo in a significant role. She will join Miss Universe 2024 Victoria Kjaer Theilvig of Denmark in promoting the pageant across Asia, emphasizing its global impact.

Supsup reassured Manalo that her efforts were not in vain, emphasizing that outcomes in pageants often hinge on factors beyond one’s control. “Chelsea, I love you. You know that I’ve always believed in you.

You did a great job. I’m speechless at your performance. Whatever the results, it’s not even your fault.

It’s destiny. The most important thing is that you’re happy; you’re happy with your performance. And you made the Filipinos proud,” Supsup said.

Shamcey Supsup also commended Theilvig, whose authenticity shone throughout the competition. Despite lacking the rigorous training typical of pageant powerhouses, Theilvig’s genuine personality resonated with the judges and audience alike. “Of course, Denmark, I’ve always loved her.

There’s something about her and to think that she didn’t bring any fanbase with her, but you can hear that the cheers for her were as loud as that of Mexico,” added Supsup, herself a Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up.
