Sikandar Kher recalled anecdotes from Devdas shoot. Did you know Kirron Kher’s son, Sikandar Kher, was an AD on the set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas? The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Jackie Shroff and Kirron Kher in key roles. Sikandar was in charge of shooting the BTS footage for the film.

In a recent chat with Tape A Tale, Sikandar recalled anecdotes from the shoot. Sikandar Kher said, “I remember saying that I wanted to shoot the making of the film because it was a big movie and there was a lot of buzz around it, like all of Sanjay’s pictures." “People struggle to create a buzz around their film, but he can take his time making his movie, and there is always a buzz around it," he said.

“I was struggling in procuring a handycam, and Shah Rukh gave me his own, and it was a very cool setup; it had various lenses and a tripod, and I ended up shooting 22 hours of footage. In the scene where Shah Rukh is breaking the bottles, he cut his finger, and I went in with my camera using the night vision and got that footage," he shared. “I have had firsthand experience of watching him work, and he is the most giving actor that I have seen.

From what I have seen and heard from people, he is the most amazing person to be on set with. He is so secure within himself that he will give you his own lines just to make the scene work," Sikandar concluded. Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in King, an action-packed drama directed by Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh.

The film promises high-octane thrills combined with an emotional core that SRK described as “a story I’ve wanted to tell for years". The film is being produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix, with filming expected to take place in India and Europe. Originally scheduled to begin in March 2025, the shooting has been slightly delayed and is now likely to start in June 2025.

Sources close to the project revealed that Siddharth Anand is fine-tuning the script to ensure that King exceeds the high standards set by Pathaan and the YRF Spy Universe. Fans eagerly await the film’s release, which is slated for late 2026..
