OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – We’re starting the day with a mix of sun and clouds, but severe storm changes are on the way by this evening. A cold front and dry line will push through the state this afternoon and evening, sparking showers and potentially severe storms for parts of Oklahoma. The greatest risk for strong to severe storms will be north of the I-40 corridor this evening, where hail up to the size of golf balls and damaging winds between 60 to 80 mph are possible.

Across the metro and areas to the south, a capping inversion may limit storm development. However, any storms that do break through could still pose a large hail threat.Storms will continue to shift northeast overnight, with gradual clearing from west to east.

By Sunday, we’ll dry out with partly cloudy skies and milder temperatures in the mid-60s..
