Essex commuters on the c2c line are being severely delayed this morning (October 17) with delayed and cancelled trains. This is due to lightning damaging the signalling system at Shoeburyness. This has impacted the entire c2c line.

This includes stations such as Thorpe Bay, Southend Central, Leigh on Sea and Basildon, heading towards London. Train services running across the whole c2c network may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 10am this morning, with c2c set to put out an updated statement soon.
