The star of Severance has a stellar taste in cinema

Severance star Adam Scott has named his five favorite films of all time. While the hit Apple TV series has just finished airing its second season, fans are already anticipating the third instalment. Scott plays Mark Scout in the show, and is expected to return as his character will have to deal with the aftermath of that intense finale.

However, the actor has been a feature in television and movies for more than two decades now. Primarily known for his comedic roles he has featured in hit sitcom Parks and Recreation and Party Down as well as movies including Step Brothers and The Monkey. Unsurprisingly Scott possesses a deep love of cinema himself and he was asked by Rotten Tomatoes to select some of his all time favorites.

While he was posed this question some time ago now, his list contains some that are considered classics. So it's unlikely it has changed much if at all since. Holding the all-time top spot for Scott was an entry in the Indiana Jones franchise.

He said: " “My favourite movie is Raiders of the Lost Ark. I just think it’s perfect in every way. I find it very moving in parts.

” Next up was Defending Your Life, the comedy drama made by Albert Brooks, which had a big impact on high school student Scott. He admitted: "I was kind of at the exact age where..

. it spoke directly to me for whatever reason. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed harder in a movie theatre than the Past Lives Pavilion (sequence).

” There's no denying which Hollywood director can be considered as Scott's most revered in his eyes. That is because the actor included three movies helmed by Martin Scorsese in his list, with two claiming one spot together. All of them also happen to star Robert De Niro.

First up was the massively influential King of Comedy, which Scott calls "an endlessly fascinating subject, this sort of quest for celebrity." Next up, he is unable to choose between Raging Bull or gangster genre classic Goodfellas. He admitted: "I think Goodfellas is another one that’s one of my favorites, and certainly Raging Bull.

I’ve seen all of those movies so many times, it’s crazy." Finally, his list is rounded out by the action comedy, which happens to be another De Niro led title, Midnight Run along with Steven Soderbergh's directorial debut sex, lies and videotape. Scott said: "I’d probably put Midnight Run in there.

I love that movie.” Adam Scott’s five favorite movies (in no particular order) Raiders of the Lost Ark Defending Your Life The King of Comedy Raging Bull/Goodfellas Midnight Run sex, lies and videotape Severance is streaming on Apple TV+..
