Seven injured in fire at pharma company in Vapi

Surat: Seven people were injured in a fire that erupted in the industrial premises of Richter Themis Medicare in Vapi GIDC on Thursday. Three people were hospitalized while four others sustained minor burns. The fire started in the powder processing area of the company but was controlled before it could spread to the plant or other parts of the unit.

Firefighting teams from Vapi GIDC, the municipality, and nearby industrial areas joined the efforts. "A detailed investigation will be carried out to ascertain the reasons for the fire," said an official of the industrial safety and health department. A team from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) visited the premises to collect details related to the incident and assess the environmental impact.



"A report will be submitted to our head office. Based on the report, further actions will be taken," said a GPCB official..
