‘Senate twink’, otherwise known as the gay ex-Democrat staffer who recorded himself having sex in the US Senate, has said he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after the scandal.Aidan Maese-Czeropski was 24 and working for Maryland Democrat senator Ben Cardin when a lewd video that allegedly showed him and another man having sex in a Senate hearing room was exposed in December 2023 by a right-wing outlet. The footage, which was obtained and published by Tucker Carlson-founded outlet the Daily Caller, showed two men having sex on a dias – where lawmakers typically sit when conducting official business.
The content was allegedly “shared in a private group for gay men in politics”. Maese-Czeropski – who was identified as one of the men in the video and became known as ‘Senate Twink’ – was fired from his staffer role, with Cardin calling his aide’s actions a “breach of trust”. A US Senate staffer was fired after he was accused of allegedly being filmed having sex in a congressional hearing room.

“Mentally, I spent a little bit in the psych ward after the fact because it was just...
it’s overwhelming to realise and to know that tens of millions of people literally despise you,” he said, adding he was a “catatonic mess”. “Everyone in DC knew me, and it was kind of gross and horrifying because I’m not someone who likes to be in the public spotlight at all,” he also said, noting he could not get another job in Washington because he became so infamous so quickly. “I don’t have any shame in that,” he said of his PTSD to the LGBTQ+ outlet. The former staffer explained he moved to Sydney after meeting a backpacker from New Zealand in South Africa – where he fled after the incident – and she told him that he would really vibe with the Australian city. “She told me, ‘Aiden, you should move to Sydney, you would love it there, you would fit right in, you could get a fresh start,’” he said.
“I took a risk...
I love it here and I’m glad that I took that jump.”Speaking of his regrets about the sex tape scandal, Maese-Czeropski said the hatred he received as heightened because he was bottoming during the footage. “I got all these death threats, hatred.
And the guy who was the top didn’t.”Following the sexual clip being exposed by the Daily Caller, Maese-Czeropski – who had worked for Cardin for about 14 months – posted a since-deleted statement on LinkedIn. “This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love, to pursue a political agenda.
“While some of my actions in the past have shown poor [judgment], I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace. Any attempts to characterise my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters.” The post ‘Senate twink’ who allegedly made gay sex video in congress finally speaks out appeared first on PinkNews | Latest lesbian, gay, bi and trans news | LGBTQ+ news.
