Mabel has been a key character in the comedy series since its debut, and will seemingly continue to do – but that may not always have been the plan.
According to Selena Gomez in a chat with Variety , she once pitched for Mabel to be uncovered as the killer in a past season of the hit show. I don’t think it’s going to work out, but who knows? You never know.
” Mabel’s fate in the series was almost cast in doubt at the end of season one, when she was framed for the murder of Bunny Folger, the board president of the Arconia. Mabel and the rest of her podcast co-hosts were later cleared of any wrongdoing in season two. In July, it was announced that Selena Gomez had earned her first-ever Emmy nomination for her role in the third season of Only Murders In The Building.

In a four-star review for NME , Nick Levine wrote: “After a slightly stilted start, Only Murders soon locks into its usual rhythm. It’s a shame that scenes pairing Martin and [Eugene] Levy – two bona fide comedy icons – aren’t fizzier, but [Eva] Longoria gets some zingers.
“In season eight of Desperate Housewives , I told them I wouldn’t return unless they legalised gay marriage – and guess what, they did,” she tells Mabel.
