See how your school performed on the 2024 New York state reading exam

Of the 22,526 students who took the test at Staten Island public schools in spring 2024, 56.2% were proficient, data shows.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The city Department of Education (DOE) recently released data on the 2024 New York state test scores for English language arts and math.

Each spring, New York students in grades three through eight take part in standardized exams in reading and math — offering an idea of how well students are succeeding in those subjects. State exam scores also determine if a student receives academic intervention services, which are intended to increase achievement for students who struggle to meet the learning standards. Students are graded on a scale of one to four, with three and four determining if a student is proficient in the subject.
