The South-East Senate Caucus on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned banker and economist, Dr. Pascal Dozie. In a condolence statement issued in Abuja, the Chairman of the Caucus, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, described Dozie’s death as a great loss to Nigeria’s financial sector and the nation at large.
Dozie, founder of the defunct Diamond Bank Plc and former chairman of MTN Nigeria, died at the age of 85. His family confirmed his death on Tuesday. Reacting to the news, Senator Abaribe praised Dozie’s outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s economic development, calling him a visionary and a pillar in the banking and financial landscape.
