, the PCG-Northern Quezon station based in Real town cited the 5 a.m. bulletin by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) of prevailing strong gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon.

The strong winds may cause huge waves that are expected to affect the coastal town of General Nakar, the northern and eastern coast of Polillo Islands, northern Patnanungan, northeastern Burdeos, and northern and eastern Jomalig. This meant that all trips of vessels with 250 gross tonnages or less plying the route within the above-mentioned areas were suspended, the advisory stated. The suspension order would be lifted and sea travel for small seacraft may be resumed any time when the weather improves, the PCG said.

Polillo Island, facing the Pacific Ocean, is host to the towns of Polillo, Burdeos, and Panukulan. Jomalig, the smallest and farthest island town, is in the southeastern part of the Polillo island group that includes Patnanungan island.
