Spell It Nigeria, an affiliate of the renowned Scripps National Spelling Bee, USA has debuted in Nigeria. The debut edition is a collaborative effort between the Young Educators Foundation, Lucid Education Initiative, Office of the S.A to Lagos State Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, Lagos State, Rotary Int’l District 9112 and the American Business Council of Nigeria.

The Nigeria debut of the competition marks a significant milestone in the nation’s educational history. The programme, which has celebrated over a century of academic excellence, is now open to Nigerian students between age 8 and 13, offering them unparalleled opportunity to compete on a global stage alongside their peers. This move will see Nigeria compete for the first time in the United States, joining Ghana as the only two African Countries in the prestigious competition.
