Scott Technology has secured six major overseas contracts with European and North American food processors, valued at $30 million, which is expected to boost its North American expansion plans. The automation manufacturer said the deals involved contracts with businesses in Canada, Belgium, France and the Netherlands, and was part of a strategy to increase sales in North America. Scott Technology Europe and North America president Aaron Vanwalleghem said the latest contracts involved both existing and new customers, and would provide Scott with a large-scale reference site in North America.

"It really shows that we are seen as an industry leader, where we partner up with big, leading companies in the food processing market," he said, adding there was potential for further expansion in North America with a large unnamed global customer. Scott's 2027 strategy emphasised moving from custom-built systems to scalable products in the areas of materials handling and logistic, protein and minerals, which saw 12 percent revenue growth in the year ended in August, accounting for 85 percent of total group revenue, compared with 79 percent the year earlier. "It's clear that the North American market itself is a key growth market for Scott's, and a market where we're going to continue to invest, and not only on material handling, but also for our protein and our minerals business," Vanwalleghem said.

"So it's going to be a key market where we're going to see a lot of investment, and I am pretty confident of a lot of exciting news also in the upcoming months and years." Scott also secured the first pre-order of its NexBot Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) which was set to launch in the first half of the financial year ending February. "The strong pre-launch interest in our NexBot AGV products further highlights the growing demand for smarter, more advanced automation solutions.

"Its upcoming launch marks a pivotal moment in Scott's productisation strategy, as we move from custom-engineered systems to scalable, productised solutions-strengthening our leadership in industry innovation and transforming the way our customers operate." He said the new technology also paired with its existing equipment to produce rich data suitable for AI applications.
