Scientist from Kazakhstan makes pilgrimage to tomb of Kazakh khan in Naryn

- According to Kazakh ethnographer, doctor of historical sciences Toktobay Ahmet, the Kazakh Tahir khan spent the last years of his life in Kochkor-Ata area in Kochkor district of Naryn region, Turmush reports. The khan was buried there, the scientist said in the interview with Turmush. Tahir khan arrived in Kochkor district of Kyrgyzstan, as it is a beautiful and picturesque place, he said.

"In this area, the Kazakh Tahir khan that time held meetings with the leader of the Kyrgyz people Muhambet Biy," the scientist said. Kyrgyz call Tahir khan Daiyr khan. This was written by Muhammad Haidar in his work "Taryhi Rashiddi".



"Tahir khan arrived in this place and lived here with Kyrgyz. In 1524, the Kazakh khan in Kochkor met with Muhammed-Kyrgyz. They talked about joint activities for the freedom of the brotherly peoples from Mongolian conquerors.

The Kazakh-Kyrgyz friendship started a long ago. Tahir khan died on the Kyrgyz land in Kochkor-Ata. His remains were buried on the Kyrgyz land.

I am engaged in research of such kind of historic sites," Toktobay Ahmet said. Tarikh-i-Rashidi (also spelled “Taryhi Rashiddi”) is a significant historical work by Mirza Muhammad Haidar Dughlat. Written between 1541 and 1546, it combines personal memoirs with the history of Central Asia.
