School pupils design posters to help house builder highlight dangers of playing near construction sites

Construction of new homes at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s Calder Wynd in Carnbroe is well underway, and the first homeowners have moved into their new properties. As part of its health and safety talk to nearby Riverbank Primary School, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland challenged the children to design a health and safety poster that would remind the local community of the dangers associated with playing near any construction site. Deryck Schendel, regional health and safety advisor for Taylor Wimpey in Scotland, said: "Health and safety in and around our construction areas is so important to Taylor Wimpey. "As a follow-up activity to our in-school health and safety presentation, our poster challenge is a great way for children to demonstrate what they learned during our visit.” Helen Paterson, head teacher at Riverbank Primary School, added: “Following Taylor Wimpey's health and safety presentation, the children were tasked with creating health and safety posters.
