Airline The Vikings (8-0), as you figured they would, got into the video-game points race with a 76-point effort against Natchitoches Central . Up next: at Byrd (7-1) 2. Parkway Gavin Ferrington to continues to be a shining light in tumultuous season in SoBo.

His five-touchdown effort led the Panthers (7-1) in big win vs. Captain Shreve. Up next: vs.

Benton (1-7) 3. Byrd The Yellow Jackets (7-1) are in the midst of one of the best turnarounds in the area. Now, they have a massive opportunity to prove The City is back.

Up next: vs. Airline (8-0) 4. Calvary The Cavaliers (6-2) are quietly working through the regular season.

Running back James Simon saw some action against Huntington ; that bodes well for the postseason. Up next: at Green Oaks (1-7) 5. North DeSoto Don’t let Luke Delafield and the Griffins (6-2) get hot.

Come playoff time, they’re going to be a tad overlooked compared to the past couple of years. And Cole Cory is likely to be available soon. Up next: at Loyola (6-2) 6.

Northwood Another local team with just one loss. The Falcons (7-1) need some help, but a big game looms at The Pit to possibly stay in the race for a league title. Up next: at Minden (7-1) 8.

Captain Shreve (4-4) While Byrd has turned things around, the Gators (who swept 1-5A last season) have gone the opposite direction. Up next: at Haughton (2-6) 9. Evangel The Eagles (3-5) have won two straight since the 77-76 overtime loss to Shreve.

Now a top-10 team from Class 2A visits. Up next: vs. Lafayette Christian (3-5) 10.

Minden The Crimson Tide defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown in the past two games. The unit will be tested this week in a District 1-4A battle of 7-1 teams. Up next: vs.
