We would however, check transport links for the recipient to the closest destination as the locations might be a long journey for some. Valid until March 31 2025, enjoy an overnight stay for two people at Alveston Manor Hotel in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon with dinner, bed and breakfast, plus a bottle of wine in your room from £149.

If afternoon tea is more to their fancy, a traditional Afternoon Tea for two people is priced from £39 at Crutherland House , near Glasgow, Craxton Wood in Chester , and Linden Hall in Northumberland - an impressive saving of £21. Reviews on TrustPilot for Macdonald Hotels & Resorts are mixed. One person said: "Stayed at the Windsor hotel, staff where all very nice and the hotel reception and restaurant areas very nice and clean , our room however was a bit ‘tired’.

" Speaking of the Craxton Wood Hotel, a customer wrote: "Stayed for 2 days, was a really nice stay. It looked fantastic on the outside, and the inside was just as nice. The rooms were matching and fit the setting, really comfy beds and decent rooms all round.

" Someone else commented on the same hotel: "The spa was brilliant the evening meal and breakfast spot on too and every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Only slight downside was the rooms just need a bit of TLC. But other then that I would definitely come back here again as I’m going home feeling nice and relaxed.

" After visiting the Elmers Court Hotel and Resort, a five-star reviewer shared: "What a great experience! I went with hubby for a well needed break and we booked the spa signature package. Every single member of staff we interacted with was incredibly nice and helpful. The package included 2 treatments, we had a full body massage and a facial, Olivia and Kelly were really good and so nice, made me feel very comfortable and hubby was super happy as well with his treatments.

" However, someone else found it lacking, explaining: "Sadly the room is very dated and cold. We had an outside patio seating area overlooking the car park and with large patio doors you'd expect the radiator to work in the room, but it didn't. We only found this out late when we returned on the Sunday to a freezing cold room.

" You don't have to gift a voucher for the full amount, you can gift a monetary voucher from £10 , but you can also save on gift experiences if you spot something you know they'll love. Valid for redemption from January to March 2025, choose from a number of relaxing activities at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts around the UK. There's bed and breakfast for two plus a bottle of wine from £99, afternoon Tea for two for £39 (saving £21), and a spa day for two from £89, including 25-minute treatment and use of facilities.
