As previously reported, some residents of South Ham and Buckskin fear they may be forced to sell their homes to make way for a huge redevelopment project by Sovereign Network Group (SNG) in partnership with The Hill Group, which could take 20 years to complete. Both the leader of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Cllr Paul Harvey, and the group chief executive of SNG, Mark Washer, said that compulsory purchase orders (CPOs) could be used as a last resort - meaning that homeowners face the possibility of losing their homes to developers. Now, a group of residents have formed the 'Save Buckskin and South Ham' (Save BASH) committee to be a voice for those impacted.
