In no way is the RB20 an underperforming car. One race finishing outside the top five and everyone seems to think it’s turned into a Haas. Mercedes and Ferrari have had much more up and down performances over the season, and their downs have been way lower.

In Monza, Max set his best time in Q2. Had he improved in Q3 by the same margin as the top five then he’d have been anywhere from P2 to P5 and could have had a much different race. Their race was hampered by strategy too.

The race before, Verstappen finished a very comfortable second. He stuck it on pole by 0.6s the race before that in Spa, before the engine penalty and difficulty in overtaking hurt him.

The race before in Hungry he wasn’t performing his best and had a clumsy race, but his pace was still stronger than Ferrari and Mercedes. Yes, McLaren have had the advantage at recent events, but Red Bull have been almost equal or a very close second best. I expect McLaren to be strong again, but Red Bull will be second-best.

I think they’ll struggle more in Singapore, but after that I see no reason to doubt Red Bull being quickest or second-best at the remaining races.
